Getting started
Five minutes, start to finish. You need nothing but an e-mail address; the free plan asks for no card.
1. Create the account
Sign up at app.hourino.com and confirm the e-mail we send you. A workspace is created for you at the same time — that is the box everything else lives in: clients, projects, people and hours.
2. Track the first hour
Type what you are doing into the timer at the top and press Start. That is a valid entry; a project is optional. Stop it when you are done, or let it run — the timer survives a page reload and a closed laptop, because it lives on the server, not in the tab.
Already worked and forgot to start it? Use Add entry and type the time
range, or a duration like 1:30, 90m or 1.5h.
3. Add a client and a project
Projects are what make reports useful. Create the client first, then the project under it, and set an hourly rate on whichever of the two matches how you bill. From then on, picking the project on an entry is enough for the money to add up.
4. Put the timer where you work
The desktop app puts the running time next to the clock in your menu bar or tray, starts and stops with a keyboard shortcut, and keeps tracking when the network is gone. If you spend your day outside the browser, install it now rather than later.
5. Only then invite people
Invite the team once you know how you want hours organised. By default everyone sees only their own time — you decide whether to open that up, and it is worth deciding deliberately.
