Help

Short pages, written to be read once. If something here does not match what the app does, the page is wrong — tell us and we will fix it.

Getting started

Account, first entry, first project, the desktop timer. About five minutes.

Tracking time

The timer, entries typed after the fact, editing, tags, billable, dictation.

Projects, clients and rates

How clients, projects and tasks fit together — and which hourly rate wins.

Reports and invoicing

Filters, rounding (and why rounded totals grow), CSV and PDF exports.

Team and visibility

Invitations, the three roles, teams with leads, who sees whose hours and money.

The desktop app

Menu-bar timer, offline tracking, idle detection, reminders, shortcuts.

API, MCP and Asana

Personal tokens, bulk import, the connector for Claude, Asana write-back.

Your data

Export, deletion and the 30-day window, backups, what leaves the app.

Frequent questions

My report shows more hours than I tracked.

Rounding is on, and each entry is rounded before the entries are added up. Four seven-minute entries at 15-minute blocks rounded up are one hour, not half an hour. See Reports and invoicing.

Why is the amount empty instead of zero?

Either no hourly rate applies to that entry, or you are not allowed to see amounts for that person's time. A zero would claim the work was free, so we show a dash instead. See rates and visibility.

I changed an hourly rate and old reports changed too.

Rates apply when the report runs, they are not frozen onto entries. Export or save a report before changing rates for a period you have already invoiced.

Can I run two timers at once?

No — one running timer per person. Two timers at once is almost always a mistake that costs you an hour of untangling later.

I lost network in the desktop app. Did I lose the time?

No. The timer keeps running locally and finished entries queue up until the network is back. Repeated uploads cannot duplicate them.

How far back can I report on the free plan?

90 days. Older data is not deleted — a paid plan opens it up again.
