Hourino on your phone
There is no app store download. Hourino is a web app that installs itself: open app.hourino.com on your phone, add it to the home screen, and it opens like an app — full screen, with its own icon, and the same account as the web and the desktop app.
Adding it to the home screen
- iPhone / iPad (Safari) — tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Other iOS browsers cannot install web apps, so use Safari for this step.
- Android (Chrome, Edge) — the app offers Add to home screen in Profile → Basics (and once, as a hint on the Timer page). If the button is missing, use the browser menu → Install app.
What the phone is for
The layout is built for four things: start or stop the timer, see today’s entries, request or approve an absence, and get a notification. The bottom bar has Timer, Calendar, Absences (when the module is on) and More, which opens everything else — reports, projects, clients, tags, settings, profile, workspace and language.
Offline
Without a connection Hourino still opens and shows the last loaded entries and projects. Writing is not queued: Start, Stop, Add and Save are disabled while offline and a bar says so. The timer itself lives on the server, so nothing is lost — you just cannot change it until you are back online. (The desktop app is the one that tracks offline.)
Updates
New versions download in the background. When one is ready, a bar offers Reload; nothing restarts on its own while you are editing.
Push notifications
In Profile → Basics → Notifications turn on Push on this device. You get the decision on your absence request and, if you approve absences, new requests waiting for you. Each device is listed and can be removed separately; Send test checks that delivery works.
On iPhone push only works for a web app added to the home screen (iOS 16.4 or newer) — open Hourino from its icon and the switch appears. If the switch is missing on other devices, the server has notifications turned off; decisions then arrive by e-mail as before.
Not (yet) on the phone
Home-screen widgets, a live timer on the lock screen and background tracking need a native app; they come later, depending on how the web app gets used.
